Tibor Futala (1929 – 2004) worked at the National Széchényi Library, then at the Library Department of the Ministry of Culture before he became the director of the National Technical Library. He was the editor in chief of „Scientific and Technical Information”, a Hungarian journal of library and information science. His vivid personality and his deep knowledge of the field were reflected in his numerous publications. He was a dominant figure of Hungarian librarianship over the past fifty years.
