The basic principles of cooperation between the Chamber of Hungarian Libraries and Information Institutes and the Association of Hungarian Librarians.

The Association is a professional organization which relies on librarians, and via their personal membership wishes to exert influence on library work. The Chamber on the other hand is an organization safeguarding the interests of institutions. The two organizations, which are functioning independent of each other, but essentially for the same goals, found it necessary to elaborate the preconditions, contents and form of their joint activities, retaining their traditions and internal operation system.
